Deal, E. F. ( *6 April 1856? - 4 May 1922) *Done with a date calculator.
E. F. Deal died Saturday, May 4, at this home in the town of Dewhurst, aged 66 years, and one month. Mr. Deal came here form Green County about the year 1895, and bought a large tract of land in the town of Dewhurst southeast of Columbia. For a time he raised horses on quiet an extensive scale, but later met with an accident which crippled one of his hands, and made it difficult for him to extend his farm business. He was married in Neillsville, April 6, 1898, to Miss Lydia Banghman of Green County, who with their two sons survives him.
Mr. Deal was a man of intelligence and scholarship. He had read quite widely on many subjects and stood for a high standard of citizenship.
Burial took place on his home farm, according to his expresses with before death, on Tuesday of this week.
Interesting Note:
After reading this obit for E.F. Deal, I noticed it states that according to his wishes he was buried on his home place. So, perhaps his wife was also buried there when she died, as she was not yet deceased. I believe that E. F. and Lydia Deal were the parents of Ed Deal. When my mom tells about it, is was some relative parent or grand parent of Ed Deal that was buried beneath the window of the house and I think this obit supports her statement.
