Funk, Mildred; AKA Lina (14 Aug. 1901 - 24 May 1922)
Mrs. Joseph Funk died at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Lloyd in Pine Valley May 24, aged 20 years, 9 months and 10 days. Mildred Lloyd, or Lina as she was known to the relatives and friends, was born and spent her girlhood days in Pine Valley home. After finishing the country school she attended Neillsville High school for a time living in the city with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. M. N. Wells. About four years ago she was married to Joseph Funk and went to Racine to live. About two years ago her health began to fail and she gradually grew weaker. Some six weeks ago she was brought to the home of her parents to be under their care. Her early death has cast a gloom over the home and the entire community. She was well like by all who knew her. She leaves her husband and a little daughter 17 months old who will be taken care of by the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd.
The remains were taken to Racine Thursday and the funeral held in that city Friday afternoon.
(Note: Mildred's surname was changed from Fink to Funk at the request of Judy Spencer judymspencer@comcast.net )
