York Center, March 8th - The donation held at the M. E. Church the 5th, for the benefit of Rev. J. N. Foster, was well attended and all seemed to enjoy themselves well. $52 in cash was paid to the pastor, for which he was well pleased. Today a funeral was held at the church. Deceased was a son of E. B. Bassett of York. The cause of his death was lung fever. He was attended by Dr. Templeton. Mrs. Al Turner is getting better; so as to be able to sit up some. Hardly a family around here but what has had some sickness. But all are getting better. Mr. E. K. Phalen is moving to Humbird, they say to farm it, and May he meet with success. Well, it is said we are to have a post office, to be called Wilcox. Some are not suited with the name, but I hope they will become reconciled to it. NEMO
