(6 NOV 1879 - 17 May 1921) Freeman G. Allen
was born Nov. 6, 1879 at Loyal, Clark County, Wis.; died at 1:10
a.m. May 17th, 1921 at his home in Milwaukee, Wis. He was the only
son of Wallace G. and Hattie Allen, having had one sister, Ethel
Allen Walsh, all of whom preceded him in death. Freeman spent his
childhood days in this village and grew to manhood, was educated in
the village school and spent one year at Stevens Point Norman and
one year in Wis. Business University at La Crosse. On Nov. 28, 1900,
he was married to Miss Anna Christman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.
Christman of this village. He was engaged in
the stave business in Southern Missouri for three years, and for
eight years lived in Oregon, following the timer business. He spent
a year in British Columbia, Canada, in the interest of his father's
mining business and later went to New Mexico, where he spent about
two years. For the past six
years he has held the position of Superintendent for the Winding
and Jacobus Construction Co., of Milwaukee, Wis. He was a great
lover of outdoor life and sports and of a most kindly and generous
disposition and to know him was to love him. He leaves to mourn
his loss a wife and a host of relatives and friends to whom many
extend their heartfelt sympathy. The funeral was
held from the residence of Mr. B. Christman on Thursday May 19 at 2
p.m., Rev. J. H. Chatterson officiating. The remains were laid to
rest in the Loyal Village Cemetery. Those from out of
town who attended the funeral were: Mrs. W. Winding of Milwaukee,
Mrs. H. E. Voight of Waupaca, Philip Christman Sr., Philip
Christman Jr., Nick Christman and John Christman of Tony, Wis. Pallbearers:
Milton Philpott, Albert Davel, Romeyn Jenks, Frank McGonigal, Henry
Etta, Joseph C. Andraska. Honorary
pallbearers: Joseph G.; Peter; Tony; Philip Jr.; Nick and John
