(18 Dec 1887 - 20 JUN 1921) Richard A. Newman
died June 20, 1921. He was born Dec. 18, 1887 in the town of
Beaver, Clark County, Wis. As a lad he
attended school there. When grown into manhood he worked at the
carpenter trade. In 1910 he went to
Abbotsford and alter to Medford. In 1912 he was
married to Miss Leone Langto, to this union were born three
children, two sons and one daughter. Mrs. Newman preceded her
husband in death by three years. For the last five
years he has been a patient sufferer from kidney ailments. He was a
kind and loving father and with all his suffering always had a kind
word for everyone. Those who remain
to mourn his loss are four little children: Sylvester, 8, Winifred,
6, Lloyd, 4, and his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Newman; two
sisters, Mrs. J. H. Rossow, Mrs. Rose Brussow, and five brothers,
Walter, Henry, Elmer, Charlie and Godfrey. The funeral
services were held at the home on Wednesday afternoon, June 22nd,
Rev. J. H. Chatterson officiating. Interment was in the Loyal
Cemetery. Those from away
who attended the funeral of Richard Newman were Mr. and Mrs. J.
Lavine and daughter of Boyd, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Langto, Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd Langto, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Langto, all of Medford,
Mrs. B. O. Nelson and daughter of Blair, Mr. and Mrs. L. Kellner of
