(20 OCT 1869 - 20 JUN 1921) Mrs. Lizzie
Goehring, a resident of Clark County, Wis., suddenly died at her
home Monday, June 20, 1921, at the age of 51 years, 7 months and 20
days. Miss Lizzie Melius
was born in Sheboygan Co., Wis., Oct. 29, 1869. Here she lived with
her parents until 1889, when she was married to George Goehring and
lived at Silver Creek until 1900, when they moved to Clark County,
where they spent the rest of their life. She was a loving
mother and of a generous disposition. Many a happy gathering was
enjoyed by her relatives and friends, who will greatly miss
her. Her death was
caused by a stroke and slight convulsions. She leaves to
mourn her loss nine children, Walter of Detroit, Mich., Otto and
Mrs. Lacy Philpott of Loyal, Mrs. Herbert Helton of Madison, Mrs.
Claude Catlin of Loyal, Mrs. Frank La Fountain of Cleveland, Ohio,
Florence, Floyd and Harry at home. Five brothers and four sisters,
a mother, grandmother and six grandchildren also survive. The funeral was
held at the residence on Wednesday, June 22nd, at 1:00 p.m., Rev.
Bickell of Greenwood officiating. The remains were laid to rest in
the Loyal Cemetery. The following
acted as pallbearers, Elmer and Ed Shupe, Arthur E. Darton; Boyd
Williamson; Frank Young and Otto Schwan. Those from away
who attended the funeral were her brother, John Melius of Adell,
Wis., and sister, Mrs. Herman Mehlos and son Edward of Random Lake;
Her sister, Mrs. David Irvine, husband and children, Alter and
Quinton of Owen; her sister, Mrs. Wm. Bartelt, husband and son
Ruben of Greenwood; her sister, Mrs. Oscar Melius of Whitewater,
Wis., Mother, Mrs. Caroline Melius of Greenwood; her brother-in-law
