(3 Dec 1856 - 9 OCT 1921) It has pleased God
our Heavenly Father to remove from our midst Mrs. Clarissa Newman,
ne Roehr. She was born Dec. 3, 1856 in Plymouth, Wis. Soon after
her birth she was accepted into the kingdom of God through baptism
and later on confirmation. On June 11, 1875 in Neillsville, she
entered the estate of matrimony with Charles Neuman. This marriage
was blessed with 9 children, of which two preceded the mother in
death. For many years they lived on a farm 2 1/2 miles northwest of
Loyal, Clark County, Wis.. In 1913 they moved to our village. For some time she
was afflicted with dropsy and was called away last Sunday morning,
Oct. 9th, 1921. She reached the age of 64 years, 10
months and 5 days. She leaves to
mourn her death her husband, 5 sons, 2 daughters, and 16
grandchildren. The deceased was a
kind and loving wife and mother and was ever ready to sacrifice for
those she loved and will be greatly missed in the home. She was a faithful
member of the Lutheran Church. The funeral
services were held from the church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon,
Rev. Kemena and Rev. Matter officiating. She was laid to
