Stayton, Mary J. (20 Mar 1871 - 19 JUN 1922)
Mary J. Janney was born in the township of Rock Bridge, Richland, Co., Wis., March 20, 1871, and died at her home in Loyal, Clark County, Wis., June 19, 1922, aged 51 years, 2 months and 29 days.
She was married in 1893 to Mr. Carson Stayton, and to them were born five children, of whom four survive, Erma, Ernest, Bessie and Margaret.
Her home was made in Richland Co. until 1915, when the family moved to Loyal.
When a girl she became a Christian and united with the Presbyterian Church, and later with the United Brethren Church of Richland Center, where her membership remained to the day of her death.
Besides her husband and children she is survived by her mother, two brothers, one granddaughter, other relatives and a large circle of friends.
The funeral was conducted in the United Brethren Church at Richland Center and burial made in the Fancy Creek Cemetery.
Her family, relatives and friends will greatly miss her kindness and sympathetic understanding.
