Smith, Daisy (19 NOV 1879 - 6 Jul 1922)

Daisy Smith died at the hospital in Tacoma, Wash., Thursday evening, July 6th, 1922, after an operation. She had not been in good health for about a year.

Daisy Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Volney Smith, was born on a farm near Loyal, Clark County, Wis., Nov. 19, 1879. She spent about twenty-five years of her life here, going west 17 years ago and making her home there with Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Murphy, with whom she has lived for nearly 30 years.

She leaves to mourn her death, an aged father, who resides with his daughter at Madelia, Minn., two sisters, Mrs. Ada Thomas, Madelia, Minn., Mrs. Mabel Sweet, Beaver Dam, Wis., two brothers, Bert of Plevna, Mont., and Jesse of Madelia, Minn., besides other relatives and friends.

Daisy was respected by everyone and was a person that was true and loyal to her friends at all times.

Her remains were brought here for burial, the funeral being held at the Methodist Church on Thursday afternoon, July 13th, Rev. J. H. Chatterson officiating.

Interment was in the Pine Grove Cemetery beside her mother.
