Whiteman, John (29 JUL 1851 - 10 Augl 1922)

John Whiteman was born at Pittsfield, Mass., July 29, 1851. At the age of two he came with his parents to the town of Clyman, Dodge Co., Wis., where they resided for a short time, after which they removed to the town of Lowell, Wis. After reaching manhood he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Triplett of the town of Emmet, who preceded him in death Dec. 1, 1906.

In the year 1901 he moved with his family to Loyal, Clark County, Wis., where he resided until his demise.

During his residence at Loyal and previously he was engaged as veterinary surgeon till failing health prevented his practicing. His health began to fail two years ago, but was able to care for himself until the past month, when he was taken to the hospital at Marshfield, where he passed away Thursday Aug. 10.

He leaves to mourn his death, three son, Leonard of Seattle, Washington, Milton, whose present address is unknown and Roy at home, also 3 brothers and three sisters who reside as follows: Mrs. Wm. Bellock and Mrs. Margaret Heinerly of Elroy, Wis., Mrs. Charles Firady of Beaver Dam, Wis., Wm. Whiteman of beaver Dam, F. C. Whiteman of Whitewater and Frank Whiteman of Ladysmith.

Dr. Whiteman was a good citizen, industrious and honest in all his dealings with his fellow townsmen.

The funeral service was held at the home on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. H. Chatterson officiating. Interment was in the Loyal Cemetery beside his wife.
