Green, Anson ( abt. 1892 - 7 Aug. 1922)
Anson Green, aged about 30 years, was killed by a railroad car at Merrillan Monday night. At the coal bunkers in Merrillan is a pit into which coal is dumped form the cars on the side track. No one saw how it happened but it is thought that Mr. Green had been working in this pit and was coming out just as the car overhead was shoved along the track. He was caught under the wheels and so badly injured that he died in a few minutes. Mr. Green was born and brought up at Dells Dam, being the son of the late Amanda Green. He was married and leaves a wife and four children in Merrillan. The funeral will be held today (Thursday) at Dells Dam.
