Krantz, Ernest (19 Feb. 1842 - 4 Sept. 1922)
Ernest Krantz one of the oldest residents of the town of Washburn died September 4, at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 15 days. He was born in Schlesin, Germany, Feb. 19, 1842. He was married there and in 1892 came to this country. After living a year in Milwaukee he came to the town of Washburn where his home has been ever since. Nine years ago his wife died. For some time past he made his home with his granddaughter Mrs. Jos. Horhled. Over a year ago he met with an accident which so crippled him that he has been in invalid until his death.
He was an industrious, honest man and well like by all who knew him. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Gus. Spaete of Washburn and Mrs. Robert Jacob of Weston. Also 4 grandchildren and one great-grand-child. The funeral was held Wednesday at the Reformed church in Neillsville, Rev. D. Grether officiating.
