First Graduation From Neillsville High School
J. W. Lynch of this city found among some old papers a clipping giving the program of the first commencement exercises of Neillsville’s high school June 15, 1877.
Prof. C. E. Miller was principal. The graduates were Ella Bacon, Byron D. Lynch, Laura A. Head and Chas. J. Fuller. The following is the commencement program:
Music School Invocation.
"The Antiquities of America," Ella Bacon.
"Times of Julius Ceasar," Byron D. Lynch.
Music Scotch Ballad
"Our Literature" Laura A. Head
"Shoddyism in America" Chas. J. Fuller.
Presentation of Diplomas.
Address by Rev. H. W. Bushnell of Eau Claire.
