Hanson, Marie (8 Sept. - 8 Feb. 1923)
Mrs. Ole A. Hanson died at her home in this city Thursday, Feb. 8, aged 82 years and 5 months. Mrs. Hanson, whose maiden names was Marie Johnson, was born at Christiansand, Norway, Sept. 8, 1840. She was married to Ole A. Hanson Sept. 5, 1867. They came to America in 1871, living for a time in Chicago, then coming to Neillsville which has since remained their home. To Mr. and Mrs. Hanson were born seven children, one of whom died in infancy. The others are all living. They are Josephine Hanson, at home, Mrs. Henry Funk of Las Animas, Colorado; Julius Hanson of Minot, N. D.; Mrs. Hugh Hubard, Mrs. George Vaught and Mrs. Jack Light all of Neillsville. Beside her husband and children she leaves six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hanson was a woman of kind and gentle disposition, ever ready to give her time and strength for the comfort of those about her. She went about the duties of life in a quiet manner, but her devotion to her home and family and those who needed her help, have left to her family many blessed memories.
The funeral was held at the home Sunday afternoon, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. The son, Julius, was home for the funeral.
