George 'Junior' Florence, 82, of Pittsville, died Saturday March 6, 2004 in Neillsville.

George was born in the Wood County Town of Rock in 1921 to George and Rose (Berger) Florence. He attended grade school in the Clark Co. Town of Sherwood. He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the South Pacific. He attended technical school in Wausau, and worked in Indiana and Georgia before returning to farm in the Town of Sherwood. George was married to Gloria Gehrke in 1949 in Marshfield.

George is survived by his wife; two sons; one daughter; four grandchildren; and his brother and sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Martha Reecher and Rose Maddux,

Funeral services were held Wednesday March 10 at St. Paul's Lutheran church in the Clark Co. Town of Sherwood, with burial in the town of Sherwood cemetery. Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville, assisted with arrangements.
