William Smithers, and Mesdams H.A. Lawrence, A.W. Hales, E.M. Rowe and L.J. Fulwiler are at Fox Lake, being called there to attend the funeral of Mrs. J. Learned, a daughter of William Smithers, and a sister of the ladies above mentioned. Mrs. Learned leaves a family of seven small children. Another camp meeting commences operations here today. On account of the rain on the Fourth our picnic was not so largely attended as was anticipated, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the occasion passed off pleasantly. The fire works in the evening were something never before equaled in this vicinity, and was pronounced by all a grand success.
