York, Wisconsin July 18, 1893

The Holiness camp meeting closed last Sunday evening. A number of our young people went over to the Windfall Church last Sunday evening with the expectation of listing to Rev. Spears of Marshfield, but on arriving there they were disappointed. They however had the pleasure of listening to Rev. Sweet, who gave them an elegant discourse. Herb Visgar spent a week a the World's Fair and came back well satisfied. Mrs. Joe Bolton of Humbird spent Saturday and Sunday at this place and took in the Camp meeting. Dan Davidson of Rhinelander is calling on his many friends here. Floy King who is attending school at Fairchild, is spending her vacation with her parents. A.P. Fulwiler is sporting a horse and buggy. Amos can get there with the rest of them now. W. Wing and wife of Chili, were the guests of William Rowe and wife Sunday and attended the camp meeting. Blanche Windover visited friends at Humbird last week. J.J. Rowe, who has been working for the Chili Lumber Company for some time is again at this place. A large number of people from Loyal and Greenwood attended camp meeting and seemed well satisfied with Rev. Martin's sermons. George Lindsley who spent two months in Dakota, is home again looking hale and hearty after taking in the Dakota breezes. George Rowe and L. Fulwiler of Chili, spent Sunday at home. The crops in our town look prosperous and the farmers are busy as the bees. Lizzie Fischer returned home from Racine where she has been at work. Hank Lapp of Granton, was seen on our streets Sunday. There will be an ice cream festival at Hi Windovers tonight.

The ice cream sociable held Tuesday evening at Mrs. Windover's was well attended. Three large tables were beautifully decorated with flowers and well supplied with cake, and the ice cream was served to some over eighty people. All pronounced it a grand success. The proceeds of the evening were $26.35, and was presented to our worthy pastor, Rev. J. Ford. J.J. Rowe, having finished his job at Chili, is now home. Quite a number came up from Humbird to attend camp meeting last week. It closed Sunday night.
