York, Wisconsin: October 25, 1893
A.P. Fulwiler visited at Chili last Monday. Amos, what is the attraction down there? Jessie Lawrence of Loyal, was the guest of Grace Mortimer last week. William Smithers and wife accompanied by L.J. Fulwiler and wife started for the white city Tuesday to take in the sights. W.W. Warner visited at the county seat on Monday. Mrs. Emma Bolton closed her school in the Garvin District and Ella Lindsley in District No. 2 last week. Fred Garvin shot and killed a large bear last Tuesday. Last Tuesday evening while on their way home from Neillsville, Norman Rogers and his sister, Mrs. Ed Bailey met with an accident. Their horse became frightened and ran away tipping the cart over and throwing them out. Norman received no injuries, but Mrs. Bailey was so severely hurt that she lay unconscious all night. Dr. Esch was called, and at last reports she was doing well. Byron Bassett and wife celebrated their cotton wedding last Thursday evening. All present reported a pleasant time, and many beautiful presents were given Mr. and Mrs. Bassett. E.H. Lindsley moves his family to Pittsville today. W.A. Rowe made a business trip to Pittsville on Monday.
