Herman's father was William Hemp who was born in 1810 at Reir Ort, Berlin, Germany and died Apr-1875 in Berlin, Germany. His mother (the wife of William) was Albertine Justus. Herman's grandfather was Christian Hemp who was born in 1785 at Regenthen, Germany and married Mathilde (Kuhl). He died in 1856 at Kreis Arnswalde, Germany.
