MAR 1859 - 19 Jan 1924) Louis Quast, one
of the first and oldest residents of the town of Seif, Clark
County, Wis., died at his home here Jan. 19, 1924, aged 64 years, 9
months and 20 days. His health has been gradually failing for some
years. Louis Quast was
born at Brandenburg, Germany, March 30, 1859. He came to America in
1883 at the age of 24 years, and engaged in farming in the town of
Seif, where he lived until his death. In 1889 he was
married to Louise Schultz. She died 8 years later, leaving three
small children. In 1898 he was again married to Anna Steinberg. To
this union four children were born. Mrs. Quast was
industrious, honest and accommodating. He made friends with all
with whom he came in contact. He leaves his wife
and seven children to mourn his death: Mrs. Bruno Halle and Mrs.
Edward Grey of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Frank Zickert of the town of
Weston, Mrs. Gustave Belter of Eau Claire, Henry of the town of
Seif and Martin and Frederick at home. He leaves also two sisters,
Mrs. Hagedorn of the town of Weston and Mrs. Anna Scheel of the
town of Seif. He also leaves 12 grandchildren. The funeral was
held at the Lutheran Church, Globe, Tuesday, Jan. 22, Rev. Parisius
officiating. Burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. The children were
all here to attended the funeral except Mrs. Gray, who was
