NEILLSVILLE PRESS (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 02/21/1924 Hanson, Alice M.
(31 Dec 1887 - 12 Feb 1924) Alice M., daughter
of George and Mary McKend Phillips, was born Dec. 31st, 1887 and
departed this life Feb. 12, 1924, aged 37 years, 1 month and 11
days. The deceased spent
most of her life in Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. with her
parents, where her upright walk in life gained for her the
confidence of all who knew her. After the death of
her mother, which sad event occurred July 3rd, five years since,
she assumed the care and responsibilities of the home for her
father, an as far as was in her power, devoted herself to his
comfort and happiness until the time of her death. On Aug. 9, 1913,
she was united in matrimony with Henry Hanson of Rockford, Ill. No
children were born to this union. After her marriage she and her
husband lived at Rockford, Ill., and near Waukesha, Wis., till
about five years ago, when after he mother's death they returned to
Neillsville to make their home here. Mrs. Hanson
confessed Christ and united with the Presbyterian Church a number
of years since, while she was yet a young girl. She was very active
for a number of years in the work of her church, and continued to
do so until her mother's health failed and she must devote much of
her time to the household cares and administer to the mother's
comfort, which Christian duties she did till her mother was taken
to her reward. She had found much pleasure in her service with the
church people as opportunity afforded, and in the latter part of
her life she frequently did Christian service with the Ladies Aid
of the Reformed Church in Neillsville, with whom she had a number
of associates. Mrs. Hanson was a
faithful wife and daughter, beloved by those who knew her best, and
highly respected and esteemed by her neighbors and associate, all
of who will cherish many precious memories of her life. She leaves to
mourn their bereavement her husband and aged father, besides a host
of friends. She was called to
her reward very suddenly, after a brief illness, such events are
among the inscrutable things of human life, we cannot know now, we
cannot understand these things. But it is ours to accept in faith
and submissiveness the inerrant dealings of Him "who doeth all
things well", and who will lovingly "turn out all things for good
to them who love Him." The Christian here
falls asleep only to awake in the new day of inexpressible light
and joy in the Father's house of many mansions. The funeral
services were conducted from the late residence at 2:30 p.m.,
Thursday, Feb. 14th, Rev. G. J. Donnell officiating, and the burial
was made at the Neillsville Cemetery. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
