NOV 1855 - 2 Apr 1924) August Klann died
at his home in Pine Valley, Clark County, Wis., Wednesday night,
April 2nd, 1924, at 10 o'clock, after an illness of long
standing. Deceased was born
Nov. 6, 1855, in Germany, and he came to this country when 18 years
of age, and with his parents settled on a farm in Clark County,
having spent 5 years in Winona, Minn. He lived 44 years on what is
now the home farm. In the year 1886,
Jan. 21st, he was united in marriage to Albertina Wagner. To this
union 10 children were born, one dying in infancy; those surviving
with the mother are Mrs. Charles Schultz of Pine Valley; Wm. Klann
and Mrs. John Bartosz of Portage; Mrs. Dave Seif of Pine Valley,
Anton Klann of Chicago; Mrs. Fred Seif, Jr., and Mrs. Otto Kopplin
of Neillsville; Herman and August Klann at home; also 12
grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Carl Karnitz of Pine Valley
and Mrs. Wm. Schultz of Neillsville. Deceased was one
of the early settlers and lived a consecrated Christian life,
having united with the Lutheran Church when a young boy. He was a
kind husband and a good father, and was well liked by all who knew
him. All of the
children were at his bedside when he passed away, and also attended
the funeral services which were held Sunday afternoon, April 6,
from the Lutheran Church at Neillsville, interment being made in
