for the late Mrs. Johanna Dorothea Grottke, who died at the home of
her son, Wm. Grottke, April 2, 1924, were held at the Mapleworks
Lutheran Church Monday afternoon, Rev. S. Geske of Fall Creek
officiating. Johanna D. Hueber
was born Dec. 21, 1848 in Polnish Hammer, Germany. In 1878 she was
united in marriage to David Grottke. In 1886 they came to America,
and settled in this vicinity in 1887. April 20, 1893, her husband
passed away after fifteen years of happy married life. Surviving are
three sons, William, Fred and Henry, two daughters-in-law, and six
grandchildren. Relatives from away who attended the funeral were
Mrs. Grottke and son, and Mrs. Haentschel and Mr. Tramm of Forest
