Raether, Frank (1855 - 4 May 1924)

Frank Raether, one of the older residents of this vicinity, died at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire Sunday evening, May 4, 1924.

Mr. Raether was born in Milwaukee in 1855. He grew to manhood in Waukesha Co. and came to Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. in 1876. October 25, 1876, he was married to Miss Lettie Monroe in Neillsville and their home has been here and in this locality ever since. They lived in the city most of the time until 16 years ago, when they bought and moved on their farm in the town of Levis, Clark County, near Dells Dam.

Mr. Raether was a man of the finest type of character, a good citizen in every way, a kind helpful neighbor, a thoughtful and kind husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He leaves his wife and one son, Scott, who lives on the home farm in Levis. One daughter, Winnie, died 25 years ago. He leaves also six grandchildren and one great-grandchildren and one great grandchild, besides four brothers and three sisters: Otto and Edward Raether of Seattle; Albert of Milwaukee, and Barney in Montana; a sister Frances, Mrs. Bock of St. Paul, Doris in California and Ida, Mrs. Staves of Humbird.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian Church in Neillsville, Rev. Donnell officiating. The Modern Woodmen will take part in the ceremonies.
