C. (1841 - 4 May 1924) Mrs. Reinhold
Neumann died at her home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County,
Wis.) Sunday night, May 4, 1924. She had been in frail health all
winter, but was able to be about the house most of the time almost
to the last. Johanna Christine
Schroer was born in Germany in 1841. She was married to Reinhold
Neumann in 1865. They lived in Germany till 1883, when they
immigrated to America , coming directly to Neillsville where they
have since lived. Mrs. Neumann was a
quiet, home-loving woman, kind and lovable in her nature and loved
a sincere Christian life. She is survived by
her husband and six children, one child dying in infancy. Those
living are Mrs. Louisa Gottschling, Neillsville; Mrs. Peter Mertes
of Danbury; Reinhold, living in Cincinnati; Mrs. John Mertes of
Neillsville; Miss Anna Neumann at home and Charles in Centralia,
Wash. She leaves also 11 grandchildren. The funeral will be held
Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at St. John's Lutheran Church,
