Free, Mary Ellen (Marriage - 4 June 1923)
Mr. Gaylord Frederick St. Thomas and Miss Mary Ellen Free were quietly married early Monday morning June 4, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Free in this city, Rev. G. W. Longenecker performing the ceremony.
The bride is one of Neillsville’s most accomplished young ladies, and a teacher of excellence. After graduating from Neillsville high school she taught successfully in country schools. Later she graduated from Superior Normal School and taught for some time in city schools, then graduated from the State University. The past year she taught in the high school at Ellsworth. She combines with her scholastic training and culture, fine common sense and a lovable disposition.
The groom is practically a stranger to the people in Neillsville but has made an excellent impression on all who met him. He is a University man, and it was at the State University where he and his bride-to-be became acquainted. His home was at Birnamwood, Wis., but he is now connected with an automobile concern at Flint, Michigan.
Within an hour after the wedding ceremony the bride and groom were on their way by auto for Flint, where they will make their home. With them goes the good will of this community.
