Marx, Helene (Marriage - *14 May 1923)* This is just a calculation to what the announcements states.*
Monday morning at 8:30, St. Mary’s Catholic church was the scene of the pretty wedding when Miss Helene Marx, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Marx of this city, became the bride of Mr. Bernard J. Haas, son of Mrrs. Mary Haas, also of this city. Rev. Peter Weber performed the ceremony. Lohengrin’s Wedding March was played by Mr. and Mrs. Art Wagner and the Mass in B flat was beautifully sung by the choir of which the bride is a member.
She was gowned in Spanish lace over ivory satin and worn a veil. She carried a bridal bouquet of roses and sweet peas. Miss Lillian Gangler acted as bridesmaid. Her dress was of peach organdy and she wore a corsage bouquet of Ophelia roses. The groom was attended by his brother, Joseph Haas. A wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents to immediate relatives, after which the young couple departed amid showers of rice on the noon train for the Twin Cities and other points where they will spend a brief honeymoon. Many useful and beautiful gifts were presented to the young couple.
Mrs. Haas is one of Neillsville popular young ladies, having been born and brought up here and is a graduate of our high school, class of 1917. She taught school successfully for 4 years.
Mr. Haas holds a responsible position with the Hoesly & Schultz firm. He is a young man of ability and ambition. They will make their home in the Susan Bornhofen residences, which they have already prepared for immediate housekeeping.
The out of town guests were Mrs. James Caton and son of Eau Claire and Mrs. Frank Dimmermen of St. Paul, sisters of the bride; Mrs. John Haas, Mrs. Nick Weber and son, Joe of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Nick Butzen of Plymouth, Wis.
