Weeks, Ella (27 SEP 1923)

A quiet and very pretty wedding was solemnized at the Presbyterian Manse last Thursday morning, Sept. 27th, 1923, in which Mr. Fred Subke and Miss Ella Weeks were happily united in the bonds of holy matrimony, rev. G. J. Donnell officiating.

The contracting parties were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Luck, brother-in-law and sister of the groom. At the hour appointed the wedding party took their places before the hymeneal altar and were united in the ring ceremony, in which the groom placed on the finger of his bride a beautiful ring, given and received in token of their mutual pledge taken in their solemn union, so long as they both shall live.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Subke, highly respected citizens of Clark County, Wis., who reside on their farm a few miles southwest of this city. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Weeks of Owen, Clark County, Wis., who are also well known and highly respected people of this vicinity. Miss Weeks formerly taught school in this county and has a large number of warm friends in and around Neillsville.

The bride wore a beautiful gown of amber canton crepe, simply made with accordion pleated panels hanging loosely from low waist line. Soft, fine cream lace finished the neck. She carried a beautiful bouquet of Marchel-Neil rose buds, white carnations and maiden-hair fern tied with wide, cream chiffon ribbon, the long icy ends of which fell gracefully over the front of her gown.

The groom was appropriately dressed in a dark blue suit, a white carnation boutonniere on the right lapel.

After the ceremony the bridal party drove in their car to the home of the groom's parents, where a goodly number of relatives of the young people had gathered, and a sumptuous wedding dinner was enjoyed. The young couple will be at home to their many friends at the home of the groom's parents, where they expect to reside for the present.
