Just searching for info on my Grandfather, Louis Henry Backus, I think was born at Ottawa, Il in the late 1800's. I have some info on him but not enough to satisfy my curiosity. He had brothers who performed 'blackface vaudeville' with him in Chicago. He married my Grandmother and they had 4 children, including my mother. There MAY be a relationship here, but I'm not sure. He and my grandmother divorced in the 1920's and I do not know much about it all.
