Smithers, Emily (14 Nov. 1845 - 22 June 1923)
Emily Smithers passed away Friday, June 22, 1923 at 9 o’clock a.m.
She was born Nov. 14, 1845 at Bristol, Kenosha County, Wis., and came to Alto, Wis., with her parents the following year. In 1880, they moved to Spencer, Iowa, and then to Clark County in 1884, where she has lived since.
She leaves to mourn her death five sisters, Edna, Mrs. E. M. Lawrence; Ella, Mrs. Harry Stiles; Maggie, Mrs. A. W. Hales; Dora, Mrs. E. M. Rowe; and Lois, Mrs. D. E. Way.
The funeral was held at the York Center Church Sunday afternoon, Rev. W. T. Scott officiating.
