Carter, Linnie (2 March 1878 - 25 July 1923)
Linnie Savage Carter was born in Richland County, Wis., March 2, 1878. She moved to Clark County with her parents in 1893. On April 29, 1895 she was married to Edward Carter of the town of Washburn, which has been her home ever since. To them were born three children, Hubert Carter and Lulu Carter living at home and Encie, Mrs. Guy Cramer of Neillsville. She died at her home at twelve o’clock noon on July 25, 1923, after a prolonged illness. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her death, her mother, Mrs. Emma Savage, who was with her in her last illness, and four brothers and three sisters, Roy Savage of Bickelton, Wash., Grace, Mrs. Wm. Galbreath, of Vernon County; Sadie, Mrs. Harvey Banta, of Soldiers Grove, Wis.; Fay Savage of Crawford County; Phillip Savage of Richland Center, Wis.; Bessie, Mrs. Alfred Oldham, of Neillsville and Clyde Savage of the town of Washburn. Beside these she leaves a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her early death.
Mrs. Carter was a kind and loving wife, mother, sister and neighbor. She was a faithful member of the Shortville Ladies Aid for over twenty-five years and also a member of the Mystic Worker Lodge.
The funeral was held Saturday at the Presbyterian Church in Shortville, Rev. Wilson Mallory, officiating.
