Train, Rev. E. N. (1923)

WAS HERE LOOKING FOR A LOST SISTER

Monday, Rev. E. N. Train of Hilmar, California, was in Neillsville to see if he could find any trace of his sister, Frieda Johnson, who worked at the O’Neill House thirty years ago. Mr. Train came from Sweden when a small boy with his parents, who settled in Kansas. The family name was Johnson, but owing to the number of families by that name in the community, the son as they grew older, changed their names to Train. Some of the daughters, however, retained the old family name. In July or August, 1893, they stopped hearing from Frieda, and have heard nothing since till Mr. Train’s arrival here on Monday. He first interviewed James Paulus and together they went to see Kate Johnson just who was working at the O’Neill House at that time. She remembered Frieda quite distinctly and stated that she left the O’Neill House, saying that she was going to Minneapolis, and expected to be married soon. If she is living and this comes to her attention her brother will be glad to hear from her. Address Rev. E. N. Train, Hilmar, Cal.
