BOY BADLY WOUNDED
Sunday afternoon Reinhold Viergutz, aged sixteen; son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Viergutz, of Pine Valley, met with a fearful gun accident by which one of his hands was badly injured. He was at Chris. Kapfer’s, a neighbor, and with the Kapfer boys went into the granary to shoot sparrows. In some way he was carrying his shot gun or drawing it forward by the muzzle when it was discharged, and contents of the gun passing through the palm of his hand, lacerating it in a terrible manner. Medical aid was called and the wound dressed. The fingers are not torn but it remains to be seen what use he May have of them after the wound heals. On Monday he was taken to Marshfield hospital by his father.
