Graase & Mauer (04/27/1922)

TWO MARSHFIELD BOYS SAVE TRAIN ON OMAHA ROAD

Two small boys, named Graase and Mauer, probably saved the lived of many passengers on the afternoon train from Neillsville, last Saturday afternoon. While walking on the Omaha track, about a mile and a quarter west of the city, they discovered a broken rail. They immediately went to a farmer’s house near the track and telephoned to the depot here, and the section crew, in charge of H. F Haight, went to the scene and completed repairing the broken rail only a few minutes before the arrival of the passenger train.

The boys were highly praised for reporting the matter at once to the railroad company, and an effort is being made to secure a reward for them from the railroad company. -Marshfield News.
