Metcalf, Aliden (22 Oct. 1845 - 10 March 1925)

Mr. Aliden Metcalf was born in Adrian, Ohio, Oct. 22nd 1845 and died March 10th, 1925. At the age of 18, he moved with his parents to Churubusco, Indiana. In 1865 he was married to Alvira Robinson of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She lived only six years, dying August 19th, 1871. To this union were born four children, three dying in infancy. One son, Parker Metcalf, survives him.

In 1872 he was married to Susan Metcalf of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. In June , 1873 they came to Wisconsin and settled on a farm west of Neillsville, where they lied with their son up to the time of his death. He was a kind and loving father and sympathetic neighbor, honest and upright in all his dealings. To his second marriage were born four children, tow of whom survive him. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and three children, Aliden Metcalf of Chippewa Falls, Wis., Parker Metcalf of Christie, Wis.; and Jesse Metcalf of Altoona, Wis. Also a large number of grandchildren and a host of friends who will be sorry to hear of his death.

Funeral services were held at the home in Altoona March 13, Rev. Luce of the Congregational church officiating, burial talking place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
