Lorraine E. Bohl, 83, Bloomer, died on Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Bloomer Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 3, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Bloomer. The Rev. Norman Boneck officiated. Burial was in the North Catholic Cemetery, Bloomer.

Lorraine E. Swoboda was born on Dec. 15, 1918, in Chippewa County, to Anton and Anna [nee Zwiefelhofer] Swoboda. She married J. Bernard Bohl on Nov. 14, 1939, at St. Charles Catholic Church, Chippewa Falls. She was a retired cook. Her interests include playing cards, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons, Anton [Judy] Bohl, Bloomer, and Joseph [Diane] Bohl, Bloomer; three daughters, Kathleen [James] Benish, Chippewa Falls, Edna [Arnold] Kappus, Greenwood, and Ann [Duane] Faschingbauer, Bloomer; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald [Rosemary] Swoboda, Pasco, Wash., and Phillip [Roma] Swoboda, Oregon; four sisters, Veronica Goettl, Chippewa Falls, Margaret [Carl] Meier, Pasco, Wash., Alice [Lester] Jenneman, Siren, and Jean [Larry] Nelson, Bloomer; and one sister-in-law, Joanne Vahlenkamp.

Preceding her in death were her husband, J. Bernard; one infant son; one grandson, Mark Kappus; and one brother, Ralph Swoboda.

Olson Funeral home, Bloomer, assisted the family with arrangements.
