 is buried in the Neillsville, Wis. City Cemetery.

 

 

Family Notes

 

Gordon is my uncle by marriage to Virginia Wehrman.  I found the information below indicating Gordon's mother's maiden name in error. According to the one cert her name was Lostin which can be verified also on the cemetery registry listing her husband, Edward. Betty Comstock

Gehret(Gehrt), Gordon Louis(9 NOV 1927 – 26 Sep 1988


Grodon L. Gehret(Gehrt), 64, Rib Lake, died Monday morning at his home.


Services will be at 11 am, Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rib Lake. The Rev John Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery.


Visitation will be at the Dallmann Funeral Home, Rib Lake, after 4 pm, Wednesday.


He was born April 23, 1924, in Neillsville, to Edward and Alma Gehret(Gehrt). He attended the Neillsville schools.
He married Virginia Wehrman, May 15, 1954, at the United Church of Christ, Greenwood.


He farmed in the Neillsville area with his parents before moving to Greenwood to farm. In the early 1950s he worked for Frederick Post Manufacturing in Owen. In November 1958, they moved to Rib Lake where they owned and operated Gehret’s(Gehrt’s) Tavern.


He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Taylor County Tavern League, the Spirit Lake Horseshoe Club, the Rib Lake English Dart League, the Rib Lake Pool League, the Rib Lake Village Board, and a charter member and past president of the Rib Lake Lions Club.


He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Rib Lake.


He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Edward.
