Lowe, Ida F. (15 Nov. 1856 - 21 April 1925)

Mrs. Thomas Lowe, departed this life at her home on Grand Avenue, Neillsville, Tuesday night, April 21, 1925. Her health had not been good for years, but her final illness was brief, heart trouble with other complications being the cause of her death.

Mrs. Lowe, whose maiden name was Ida. F. Sechler, was born at Sechlerville, Jackson County, Wis., Nov. 15, 1856. She was the daughter of Jacob R. and Susan Secherl, early settlers of that locality, who came from Pennsylvania in 1855. She grew to womanhood and was married at her home to Thomas Lowe in 1875. On September 1, 1876 they came to Neillsville where Mr. Lowe was located in business. In 1878 they built the home on Grand Avenue, which remained their residence the rest of their lives. Mr. Lowe died May 24, 1924, preceding his wife in death eleven months. One daughter, Genevieve, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lowe. She died 21 years ago, when a young woman.

Mrs. Lowe was a woman of culture and Christian character; she was a lover of good literature, and was keenly interested in a broad way not only in local affairs but in the world about her. She was an active worker in the Congregational Church when her health permitted and took a great interest in all its activities.

Her only near relatives are her town brothers, Charles Sechler of Sechlerville, at present in Florida, and Gay R. Sechler of Black River Falls, who with his wife have been much with Mrs. Lowe during her time of illness, and who were with her at the time of her death.

The funeral was held at the home Friday afternoon, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. The ladies of the Monday Progress Club, of which Mrs. Lowe had been an active and helpful member attended the funeral in a body.

Two nieces, Miss Belle Mason of Sparta and Mrs. Royce of Grand Traverse, Michigan, came previous to her death and were here at the funeral.
