DEATH OF FRED JOLIVETTE
Alfred Jolivette died Saturday, August 1, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Richmond, in the town of Levis, aged 78 years, 7 months and 17 days. He was born in Canada Dec. 15, 1846. He came to La Crosse when quite young and lived there till 1899, when he came to Clark County, making his home in the town of Levis. In 1910 he went to Western Canada where he took a homestead, living there till the spring of 1924 when he came back to live with his daughter. Mr. Jolivette was twice married, and his has been a widower for many years. Of the six children born to these to marriages, only one, Mrs. Richmond, survives. He leaves also six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers in La Crosse and one sister, Mrs. Jerry Asselin at Thorp. Mr. Jolivette was an industrious man and well liked by all who knew him. For many years he cook in the lumber camps and was very popular with the men whom he served.
The funeral was held Monday forenoon at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. P Weber officiating.
