Temby, Theresa A. (14 Feb. 1864 - 15 Aug. 1925)
Mrs. Peter S. Temby passed away Saturday afternoon August 15, at her home in this city. Although she had not been in good health for some time, death came to her very suddenly as she was sitting up. About three months ago she sustained a fracture of one of her arms and was for some time in the hospital at Eau Claire, but had apparently nearly recovered from the effects of this accident.
Mrs. Temby, whose maiden name was Theresa A. Nitzsche was born February 14, 1864 in Filmore township, Washington County. She was married to Chas. Cornelius at Maple Works near the present site of Granton, Sept. 9, 1886. The next year Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius moved to Neillsville and made this their home thereafter. Mr. Cornelius died Dec. 11, 1918. On December 1, 1920 she was married to P. S. Temby who survives her. One daughter by her first marriage, Lydia, wife of R. A. Clemens passed away in March 1920. Her only near relative living is one sister, Mrs. Oscar Eisentraut.
Mrs. Temby was a woman who was much devoted to her home and its surroundings and took but little part in social affairs. She was active for many years in the Christian Science circles, being a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Boston, where she and Mr. Cornelius lived one year when their daughter, Lydia, studied music. She was also a member and active in the church in Neillsville.
Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday.
