Frank H. Hoffman, 87, Neillsville, died on Friday, May 17, 2002, at the Memorial Medical Center Nursing Home, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Timothy Biebert officiated. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Frank Herman Hoffman was born on Dec. 30, 1914, in the town of Weston, Clark County, to Frank and Martha [nee Kalsow] Hoffman. He attended the Globe school and worked as a farm hand until he rented the family farm where he worked for 14 years. He moved to Granton, where he operated a Standard filling station and then moved to Neillsville and worked as a commissioned tank driver for the Mobile Oil Company until 1969. He then began working as a carpenter with his brother Carl. He married Ella Foemmel at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe, on June 20, 1940. His interests included golfing, bowling and playing cards. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville.
Survivors include his wife, Ella; one sister, Ella Hemp, Neillsville; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
