Olson, Pearl May (1 November 1930 – 27 March 2022)

Pearl May Olson, age 91, of Abbotsford, was reunited with her loving husband, Harvey, in heaven on March 27, 2022, surrounded by her family under the wonderful care of Heartland hospice.

Pearl was born on November 1, 1930, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Seibarth) Foss, in Spencer. She attended Brighton School. Pearl was united in marriage to Harvey Olson on April 17, 1948. They celebrated together 72 years.

In her earlier years she was a homemaker until her children were in school, then she managed the Abby Café for 6 years. After that she cooked and was a housekeeper for St. Joseph’s Hospital. Pearl and Harvey than purchased Olson Shoe store in 1978. She also was a cook at Abbotsford High School.

Pearl enjoyed camping, fishing, cheating while playing cards, playing Bingo, and crocheting Afghans for each of her children and grandchildren. Also each child received one once they got married and a baby Afghan for all the babies. Most importantly, she cherished her family.

Pearl leaves behind her five children: Richard (Ruth) of Chippewa Falls, DuWayne (Barb) of Abbotsford, Barb Stuttgen of Stratford, Diane (Kevin) Harris of Granton and Michael (June) of Abbotsford; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; a son, Kenneth; her parents: Albert and Minnie; and her siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Father Mike Hayden will officiate. Visitation will occur at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. Friday, until time of service. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with arrangements.
