Hanson, Amelia Arndt (Marriage - 17 Nov. 1925)
A very pretty wedding took place at the Congregational parsonage at two p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17th, when Rev. G. W. Longenecker performed the ceremony which made Amelia Arndt Hanson the wife of Kenneth Grabe. They were attended by Olive Arndt, sister of the bride and Ernest McKimm.
The bride wore gray poiret twill and a rose colored hast and carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and white chrysanthemums. The bridesmaid wore brown satin. The groom wore gray and the best man wore dark blue serge. The double ring ceremony was used.
After the ceremony a bountiful wedding supper was served at the home of the bride’s parents to relatives and intimate friends. The house was decorated with pink and white festoons and with cut flowers, ferns, and potted plants, while one of the chief attractions of the table was a beautifully ornamented wedding cake.
A large number of friends and neighbors gathered at the home in the evening and gave the newly married couple an old fashioned charivari.
The bride is the daughter of Herman Arndt, a prosperous farmer of the town of Pine Valley. The groom is the son of Ernest Grabe, for many years a well known and respected citizen of Granton, and is an industrious young farmer, working his father’s farm in the town of York where they will make, their home.
