Carstenson, a prominent resident of the town of Washburn, Clark
County, Wis., passed away at his home Friday evening after a brief
illness. Mr. Carstenson was
born July 17, 1855 in Enge, Denmark. At the age of 15 years he came
to this county with his parents who settled at New Holstein, Wis.
Later he came to Medford and here he was married in 1891 to Mayme
Wehmann. In 1912 he bought the farm on Hwy 73 where he has lived
since. Those left to
mourn his departure are his wife and five children: one daughter
Elvera, Mrs. H. Demler of Marshfield; four sons, Fred of
Cannonville, Herbert of Milwaukee and Harry and William at home;
six grandchildren; one twin brother at Medford and one sister at
Brillion. Funeral services
were held from the family residence and in Zion Lutheran Church,
Granton, Tuesday afternoon. Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery
