Julius Drescher, one of the old residents of the town of Grant, Clark County, Wis., passed away at his home Thursday evening, Dec. 23, 1926. He was born at Altenberg, Germany, June 5, 1863, and came to America with his parents in 1868. They lived in Washington Co., Wis. until 1871, when the family moved to this county, settling in the town of Grant, which has been his home ever since. He was married Dec. 19, 1892 to Emma Seefeld, who died 17 months after their marriage. She left one daughter, Hattie. In 1903 he married Lydia Drescher. He leaves his wife and three children, Hattie, Mrs. Emil Korth, Daniel and Nina. Two children died in infancy. He leaves also three grandchildren, Louis, Wilbert and Walter Korth, and five brothers: Louis of the town of Grant, Robert of Sun Prairie, Fred of Olney Springs, Colorado, Alvin of Milwaukee and Bernard of the town of Lynn; also one sister, Mrs. Augusta Jahr of Granton.

He was an industrious farmer, kind hearted and helpful, and had many friends. He was one of the oldest members of the Pleasant Ridge M. E. Church.

The funeral was held Monday at that church, Rev. Lambright officiating. Burial took place in the town of Grant Cemetery. The pallbearers were Adolph Lichte, Oscar Kuechenmeister, George Vine, Lon Huckstead and Joseph Counsell. The only relatives from a distance was Miss Jennie Drescher of Oshkosh.
