J. H. Tifft of Eau Claire, Wis. passed away Jan. 21, 1927, at the hospital in Eau Claire as the result of injuries received from a fall some time previously.
Mr. Tifft lived for a number of years in Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., coming here from Madison to enter a partnership with M. F. Satterlee in publishing the Republican and Press. Several years later he bought out Mr. Satterlee and carried on the paper alone. In 1897 he went to Eau Claire and established a job office, which he has operated ever since.
