NEILLSVILLE PRESS (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 03/17/1927 Maines, Eleanor
(18 May 1880 - 10 Mar 1927) Miss Eleanor
Maines (Manes?) of Hudson, Wis. passed away March 10, 1927, at a
hospital in Minneapolis after an illness of several months. She was
born in Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., May 18, 1889, being the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dudley B. Maines. When she was a small
child, her parents moved to their farm in Pine Valley, Clark
County, west of Black River. During the Spanish-American War in
1898 she was eager to become a nurse and went to Wausau, where she
took training for that profession, which she followed the rest of
her life, being very successful in her work. She will be well
remembered by many people here of middle age. Her father died some
years ago; she is survived by her mother, who makes her home at
Hudson, three sister, Miss Delphine Maines of Minneapolis, Miss
Frances Maines of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Mrs. B. C. Bunker of
Hudson, and one brother, D. B. Maines of Spirit Lake. Funeral services
were held at Hudson and brief services by Rev. Longenecker at
Neillsville Cemetery, where burial took place Saturday. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
