Dubes, Sarah (1 SEP 1856 - 13 May 1927)

Mrs. Nathan Dubes, whose home was in the town of York, Clark County, Wis., north of Romadka, passed away on Friday, May 13, 1927, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clifford Winn, where she had been for 7 weeks previous, to receive care and be near medical assistance. Her health had been failing for more than a year, due to an attack of flu.

Mrs. Dubes, whose maiden name was Sarah Rodgers, was born in Fountain Co., Ill., Sept. 1, 1856. She grew to womanhood there and 49 years ago was married to Nathan Dubes. In 1902 she came to Clark County, Wis. and located on the land which remained their home ever since, where they cleared up a fine farm in what was then a wilderness.

Mrs. Dubes was a faithful and helpful wife and mother, and did well her allotted work in life. She was a member of the Christian Church.

Those left to mourn her death are her husband, two sons, Chester of Janesville and Frank at home, one daughter, Mrs. Clifford Winn, and 5 grandchildren.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Clifford Winn home, Rev. Wilson Mallory officiating.
