SEP 1856 - 13 May 1927) Mrs. Nathan Dubes,
whose home was in the town of York, Clark County, Wis., north of
Romadka, passed away on Friday, May 13, 1927, at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Clifford Winn, where she had been for 7 weeks
previous, to receive care and be near medical assistance. Her
health had been failing for more than a year, due to an attack of
flu. Mrs. Dubes, whose
maiden name was Sarah Rodgers, was born in Fountain Co., Ill.,
Sept. 1, 1856. She grew to womanhood there and 49 years ago was
married to Nathan Dubes. In 1902 she came to Clark County, Wis. and
located on the land which remained their home ever since, where
they cleared up a fine farm in what was then a wilderness. Mrs. Dubes was a
faithful and helpful wife and mother, and did well her allotted
work in life. She was a member of the Christian Church. Those left to
mourn her death are her husband, two sons, Chester of Janesville
and Frank at home, one daughter, Mrs. Clifford Winn, and 5
grandchildren. The funeral was
held Monday afternoon at the Clifford Winn home, Rev. Wilson
