Uttomark, George (1850? - 24 May 1927)

(The Ladysmith News)

George Uttomark, former hardware merchant of Ladysmith, and for twenty years a resident of this community, passed away Tuesday evening, May 24, 1927, at St. Joseph's Hospital at Chippewa Falls. Death resulted from complications of diseases, the immediate cause of death being pneumonia. Funeral services will be held at Weyauwega today, Friday, at 2:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church and the body laid to rest beside the remains of his wife who preceded him in death last August.

Mr. Uttomark was born in Weyauwega 76 years ago and located in Ladysmith in 1907, and outside of about two years spent on a farm near Glen Flora, has been in the hardware business practically all the time since. Last July he disposed of his business here and his health failing him following the death of his wife, made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Guy Hill, at Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., since early this spring. A month ago he took a turn for the worse and was removed to the hospital at Chippewa Falls, where he steadily failed until his death Tuesday.

Surviving the deceased are two brothers, Nelson of Seymour, Wis., and Henry of Marion, Wis., and two daughters, Mrs. G. D. Hill of Neillsville, and Mrs. E. J. Crane of Chippewa Falls.
