JUN 1852 - 8 Jul 1927) Milton Snyder
departed this life at his home in the town of York, Clark County,
Wis. Friday, July 8, 1927. He was born in St. Lawrence Co., N.Y.,
June 21, 1852, and was 75 years and 17 days old at the time of his
death. He came to Wisconsin when he was about 20 years of age and
worked on farms and in lumber camps. On Aug. 23, 1876, he was
married to Miss Nellie Parrott and moved on the home place in the
town of York, where they have resided ever since, nearly 51 years.
There were born to Mr. and Mrs. Snyder five children: Mamie, Mrs.
Frank Krejci, living in the town of York; Guy living at home;
Velma, Mrs. W. G. Hartson of Greenwood; Gale, who died in 1908,
aged 6 years and one girl died in infancy. Besides his wife and
children, he also leaves two brothers, Verd of Montana, and Cyrus
of the town of York, one grandchild and a number of nephews and
nieces. Mr. Snyder was a
genial and obliging neighbor, a kind husband and father and much
liked by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all in the
community where he lived so long. He was a member of the Modern
Woodmen for 31 years. The funeral was
held at the home Sunday afternoon, Rev. G. W. Longenecker
